When I look in the mirror,

I see...

START

a girl who works too hard to please others, not hard enough to please her God
a girl who hates conflict and disagreement
a girl who did not expect to have 4 kids in 4 1/2 years and while she loves them all, sometimes she wishes for the grass on the other side of the fence.
a girl who still doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up...a mom, a secretary, a successful cardmaker/seller, a perfect wife, a true friend, none of the above, all of the above
a girl who somedays has forgotten how to laugh, but then remembers that she has four kids that remind and teach her... if she will let them.
a girl who hates house cleaning
a girl who loves baking
a girl who enjoys cooking, but not with 4 little bodies underfoot
a girl who loves to create cards that make her smile
a girl who so desperately wants to be accepted for who she is.
a girl (am I still a girl???)

Who I really am...
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

  1. I so agree with the housecleaning. I despise it! So beautifully written for this Friday morning.

  2. You are very hard on yourself!
Remember that you are a wonderful wife, mother, sister, friend, cardmaker, etc!
    Celebrate who you are!
    I love you!

  3. Love that - it doesn't matter what we see when we look at ourselves, what matters is how God sees us. And he sees us as his precious children, a wondrous work of grace and love!

  6. It's the laundry that gets to me. And yes, when doe we stop thinking of ourselves as girls? Maybe never - maybe we are always girls in the twirly, daisy chained centers of our hearts.

    Thanks for linking up!
