Five Minute Friday --Stay

Five Minute Friday

Friday... my favorite day of the week, because I have permission to just write for 5 minutes, no worrying, no editing, no over thinking. Join us at Lisa-Jo's place for some Five Minute Friday.

STAY

I make a lot of mistakes. I have an anger issue. I'm a perfectionist. I have very little patience. I'm selfish and a little bit of a control freak.

I'm also forgiven, a child of the King. I am loved by God with a never ending, never stopping, never giving up love. I have a new name. I am to put off the old man and put on the new man --Daily. I need to renew my mind.

I'm a mom. Tie that into the first paragraph and sometimes life gets a little ugly and a bit of a mess and I  question and doubt and wonder ... How could God still love me?

I have often said that I might possibly lose my salvation every Saturday night during bath time ... and on Wednesday afternoons before Awana... and on Saturday mornings before ballet and a couple times in between.

But then I remember Scripture and I know that my God, my Savior, He isn't going anywhere. He is right here with me and He going to stay.

Romans 8:37-39 For I am persuaded that ... nothing shall be able to separate us from the Love of Christ.

Hebrews 13:5 For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

I John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life...

  1. Oh man! Last night I got a *little* out of control at dinner, and then was fuming/feeling guilty and debating whether to apologize to my son or maybe he'll learn more if I don't apologize... And then God reminded me how often and lovingly he's forgiven me.

Thanks for this. Resonates with me today.

  2. The life of a mother! I often think children bring out the best and worst in us Mommas. So thankful for a loving God who sees everything, even into our hearts, and loves us still.

  3. This posting blessed me. Thank you for sharing such an honest look at what could also be my very life on many days (swap out the losing salvation over here for Sunday evenings, please!). I so enjoyed this.

  4. Oh boy! Did you invent a time machine, watch me in horror all day long and then go back and write this? I laugh so I don't cry over this. And like Stefanie said- AMEN!
