Five Minute Friday: True

Ha, so I sat down to do my homework for class... I already did most of the thought work, just have to get online and post it... and wouldn't you know I got distracted on facebook, which led me to twitter, which led me to realize that Lisa-Jo posted the Five Minute Friday prompt before 9pm on Thursday night... which led me to decide to write first and do homework later, because honestly folks... this whole not writing or blogging but once or twice a month is KILLING ME!!

I have been living in a fog all summer... It started with the end of school rush and activities and busy, busy, busy. Which led right into a trip to Disney with my husband's family. Like literally, we flew out the day after school ended! Which was an awesome time and I kept meaning to blog about it, but it didn't really happen and now it seems silly almost 4 months later.

And then we were home for less than two weeks before we were off to Ohio for our annual week with the grandparents and a HUGE family reunion!! Yet more awesome memories and crazy busy.

And then we were home less than three days and my niece died and we were off to New York to spend an awful, crazy, sad, busy, happy memories, kind of week with my family... Sometimes I still can't find the words.

And though I've attempted more than once to get into the swing of blogging again, it just isn't happening. I'm gonna tell the truth here--there has been a little bit of avoidance.

But then there is this whole 31 days series for the month of October and I have two AWESOME ideas, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to pull it off... but stay tuned, or even subscribe to my blog to find out if I actually do it.

I thought when the kids went back to school and I was alone with my thoughts that I would find time to blog again, but that didn't happen either. I'm taking an online class toward completing my Bachelors, that has a lot of reading and some hard writing. And the new schedule with my kids is beyond crazy: one leaves at 6:50, three leave at 7:40. One I have to pick up at 11:15, one comes home at 2:30 and two come home at 3:20... I can't even keep it straight.

And I'm also trying to get my handmade card shop off the ground and running... I've had some special orders and 3 more that I NEED to complete this weekend (and oh yeah, I have a little data entry job on the side that I'm supposed to be working on)...

And that's the crazy truth of my life... and boy did it feel good just to write without worrying about it being just right...

Join us??

Five Minute Friday

and some day my blog posts will be about more than just what happened this week, this month, this summer...

  3. Oh friend... what a summer/season this has been for you... and the busy I hear you, sometimes I just wish there were more hours... or just more me... But this one true story I do know... that in 4 weeks time I will hug your neck and that is going to be very good, very, very good.

  4. I hear ya on the busy and chaos and "I just wish I could get this one thing done" season. We have many times like that in our home too. I'm praying you find rest in this season. That God will fill your lungs with his goodness and help you to exhale peace.

  7. So often, it seems like the details of our everyday are too mundane to share. Sometimes I, too, avoid the keyboard. Wonderful to look towards the future, though. His mercies are new every morning! Glad we can use this week as an opportunity to get to know each other better. Praying peace for you.

  8. Breathe, girl, breathe! Most of the time I just can't make myself take the time to sit down and write. I feel selfish if I take time away from something else to do it. I've been wondering what was going on with you because I saw your tweets about life being so crazy. Glad to know it's not anything really negative, but I totally relate to the busy schedule. Somehow I seem to have forgotten that my One Word for this year is "less".

  14. I'm so glad you were here even if infrequently. I know how it kills to not have the time to write because ALL of life is calling. I am in a crazy season of busyness and I kind of resent not being able to pour myself out in the ways I love. I can't wait to see you at Allume and we can collapse into an exhausted heap together.

  17. I'm so proud of you for being #1 this week. You totally ROCK! Um, I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but you sound a little busy. Bwaahh! Well, at least I know how to pray for you a little better now. You are amazing and talented and beautiful and smart and wonderful and I still think you ROCK. So, keep on keepin' on sister. The Lord is doing some big things through you. Things you can't even see right now. I love it when He does that. I hope you have a most excellent weekend and that you truly feel loved by the One who made you. ROCK on!

  18. That is a lot for anyone to handle and go through. It is okay to need time to regroup and allow yourself to recover. It seems like your life is very busy and perhaps the time away from the blog is what you needed for now. When you do return I'm sure it will be refreshed and renewed and we will all be waiting and happy to 'read' you :) Thanks so much for sharing...

  19. So sorry for your loss. I love reading about busy moms and how they have struggles too. It gives me incentive to keep on going. Even when I lose the baby bottle, or have the morning fight of changing our shirt.

  20. I can see why blogging slid off the side of your piled-high plate. You had no time to think about all that's gone on this summer, let alone write about it! Glad you were able to just truly give us an update...and without editing worry. Go Julie!
    PS: Your cards are gorgeous!!

  22. I agree with Jen... I am tired now - and that means you have given me the go ahead to just give in and have that extra latte! ;) Always a welcome necessity! Love the cards too... and wow - those school drop off and pick up schedules are TOUGH! Praying for you... and looking forward to Allume! It will be a busy weekend - but filled with all the best kinds of busy!

  23. It seems that with just 2 at home now (the other 3 either out of the nest or gradually moving out of it) - that I have more trouble with my schedule than ever before:) A mom's job is definitely a hectic one - hope you manage to blog more:)
