Project 52 --True Love

What is a better definition of true love than the combination of chocolate and peanut butter!?!

I found this lovely idea of chocolate candy hearts on peanut butter cookies... on Pinterest!

and Peanut Butter Blossoms is one Christmas cookie I didn't make this year, so I thought it would be a great idea for Valentine's Day, but when I mentioned it to my hubby, he told me that he's a traditionalist and prefers them with regular Hershey kisses in them... I wanted to try Dove Dark Chocolate, being that it's my favorite and all.  So when I was shopping for kisses, I found Hershey hearts, and figured that would be okay...

So we got started and it's a project that the whole family was involved in. My Honey assembled all the ingredients... we made them from scratch, not a bag mix!!

some of my girls removed wrappers from chocolate candies... we used Hershey hearts and kisses

and then all the kids had a turn to put the chocolates on the hot peanut butter cookies (with only 2 minor burns).

and my darling husband could tell the difference between the kisses and the hearts... apparently they DO taste different, even from the same brand!! :)

Valentine's Day Heart Chain

(or 100th Day of School Chain)

The 100th Day of school was a couple of weeks ago, and I took pictures with the intention of getting it on the blog then, but didn't... so I wanted to share this for The CSI Project's Red/Valentine theme. and it works great for 100 Days... if you want to make 100 like I did!! :)

When the 100th Day of School comes around, my kids get to take 100 of an item to school that day, and they like to be creative. My daughter spotted the above Valentine Decoration hanging from our mantel and decided she wanted to take a chain of 100 Valentine hearts!!  So here's my tutorial.

Assemble a variety of cardstock paper (I tried construction paper and it was a bust).  The LOVE paper was created in Microsoft Word by typing LOVE in different fonts and switching between red and black ink... LOVE it!! :) and then I printed it on white cardstock.

Cut strips of paper... my size is 3/4 inch wide by 10 inches long.

Fold in half, make sure the crease firm

Fold down the outside edges and carefully staple the inside of the heart

like so, hopefully this picture helps you understand.

then you just loop the next heart through and staple

and keep stapling, and keep stapling

Until you get to 100... or how many ever hearts you want in your chain!

and now you know what 100 hearts in a pile looks like

Let me know if this "inspires" you to create!!

Valentine Crossword Card

UPDATE: I originally submitted this card for the Typography theme last year, but it works so perfectly for the Red/Valentine party going on this week, that I wanted to share it again!!

I like to mix up my posts and I won't try to post too many cardmaking posts together... unless you  want more of them, let me know. But I knew that I had another card that would work so well with the Typography theme!  And I LOVE this card!!  I even made one personalized for a friend with her and her husband's names in the crossword, along with husband/wife... it was great fun!  If you want one of your own, you can order it here!

This card has a heart background stamped in red.  The crossword puzzle is in black (I need a new black ink pad) and then the letters are individually stamped in red, to reflect the Valentine's Day theme!!

I love the little heart brad accent, too

and then I made a matching envelope!

Right now, this is my signature on the back of each card I make... it's a work in progress.
